Max’s guide to eel avoidance

Happy weekend Pandas,

I told you yesterday about my scary experience luring the eel in with a hot dog and then getting dragged around the entire school by the giant, slimy beast. I was feeling pretty bad when…PLOP. Something fell in the water. What now? Whatever it was, the eel quickly lost interest in me, spit out the hook, and swam over to it.

It was a hot dog! I threw it in the water to distract the eel.

Great idea!

I’m full of ‘em!

Well, you did a good job. The eel raced over to the hot dog and totally ignored me. I think I saw it smacking its little eel lips. It didn’t even look so scary anymore – more satisfied than anything.

Ever since Max went through this episode with the eel, he knows exactly how to trick it.

I simply throw a hot dog in the water before I go diving. But only one. I don’t want the eel getting overweight and unhealthy. No animal should have to go through that. Once it starts making little bubbles, I know that it is full and will not bother me at all. Clever, don’t you think?
